1.
In my dreams I sang this song I heard the world sing along A chorus full of harmonies But it was just a dream, after all Voices rang out through the dark All joined in to sing a bar Echoed over hills and streams But it was just a dream I would settle for loving you right now It'd be like the world joined in my song somehow Harmony would rise, just like in my dream And we would smile at this beautiful scene
2.
A boy when you left for war, a man upon return You're an angry man at best and at worst a man disturbed A wife and kids remained behind, they're best for loving you But there ain't no one who understands what you've been through Your friends don't have the words to say, they only walk away I hope you finally find the peace that you deserve In a crowd you grab your kids, preparing for the worst While your wife is busy packing 'cuz of your angry outbursts You push away those evil thoughts, your children on your mind Wondering what you'd have to do to finally serve your time Your friends can't look you in the eye, they only look away I hope you finally find the peace that you deserve
3.
Moving through the day my mind is somewhere else The missing puzzle piece is tearing up my heart Having everything is no longer enough I'm untethered The good around me fills me up and makes me whole But a grain of doubt consumes me I'm a stranger to myself these days I'm untethered You gave me freedom to pave my own way But options overwhelm me My hearts complete but I need so much more I'm untethered

1) This Beautiful Scene

2) Peace That You Deserve

3) Untethered

The EP begins with "This Beautiful Scene," an instant Americana classic about a vision of beauty and music, driven by piano and bass with the sweet tones of pedal steel sprinkled in. Maria Long's soaring lead vocals are the song's centerpiece. "Peace That You Deserve" follows. It's a tale of America's veterans returning from the horrors of war only to battle their personal demons upon return. The story is told from the graceful voice of Rebecca Skiles on lead vocals. Both "This Beautiful Scene" and "Peace That You Deserve" are previously unreleased songs. The final track of the EP is "Untethered." The studio version of this song was released on Bourbon Therapy's 2016 album "Hymnals and Hangovers." This live version is lead by Rebecca Skiles on lead vocals and features rich dynamics and a haunting chorus.

about

Aaron Skiles (Bourbon Therapy) California

Aaron Skiles creates music for the good times...and the bad.

In 2023, Aaron released, WHISTLE PAST THE GRAVE. It’s a fast-paced tour of introspective songs taking on themes of justice, or the lack thereof. Jon Worley, of Aiding & Abetting, says about the record, "Skiles is one hell of a songwriter, and he's just as skilled and charismatic in his recording. What a wonderful, spiky breeze." ... more
